Sakura Matsuri is back! After a three-year hiatus, the Buddhist
Church of Sacramento is hosting the Sakura Matsuri Food and
Shopping Faire.
The shopping portion of the Faire is in the kaikan from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The food faire is 10:30 am to 1:30 pm in the courtyard.
Rev. Yuki’s Chanting Sessions
Monthly beginning Feb. 6
Join Rev. Yuki Sugahara on the first Monday of the month February 6 through June 5 at 10 am, in person and live-streamed on our Facebook and YouTube pages. NOTE: In May, the service is on the second Sunday, May 8.
This Chanting Service will focus on the chanting of Shoshin Nembutsu-Ge (Shoshinge) and the wasans written by Shinran Shonin. The service will also include a short Dharma message and close with the letter of Rennyo Shonin.

We are excited to announce the return of in person Dharma School for the 2022/23 term which starts on September 18, 2022, following Dharma service. Most notable change, besides returning in person, is Dharma School will be held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, instead of every Sunday.
Meet Rev. Yuki Sugahara
Our new second minister
Reverend Yuki Sugahara became the resident minister of the Oregon Buddhist Temple June 1, 2017. He is originally from Shimane Prefecture located just north of Hiroshima. He comes from a temple family on both his father’s (Kōrinji) and mother’s (Gokurakuji) side.

Register for the 2023 spring semester Japanese conversation class. The spring semester is from January 24, 2023 to May 23, 2023. All the classes will be online Zoom classes with live teachers.
