A membership that nurtures the growth of future generations.
Membership at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento is one of the many ways our community invests in its future. Your contribution makes your favorite programs and events become traditions. Your membership ensures that the newest generations in our temple community will have the opportunity to create memories to last a lifetime, in the same places where you made your own.

The Buddhist Church of Sacramento relies on Membership Dues to help support the day-to-day operations and administrative functions of the Temple. Our Dharma School, Buddhist Education Classes, and facility usage for our affiliated and sponsored organizations are some wonderful examples of your membership dues in action.

Both membership dues and donations play a vital role in supporting the Buddhist Church of Sacramento, but they serve different purposes:
Membership: means you are part of the Sangha family. It is a commitment of the heart, rooted in the Buddha-Dharma, and expressed through fellowship, shared practice, and temple participation. Membership gives you a voice in temple decisions and connects you to a community of support and compassion. Membership offers benefits including free organization membership and subsidized/reduced membership in sports and Japanese Language School, and special member pricing for events.
Donation: A donation is a tax-deductible contribution that helps fund the maintenance, operations, and programs of the temple. Unless otherwise specified, donations go to the General Operating Fund, but donors can also designate contributions to specific programs like scouting, choir, Dharma School, or the Legacy Endowment Fund (LEF)—a long-term investment where only the interest is used to support temple needs, scholarships, and shrine maintenance.
Both membership and donations ensure the Buddhist Church of Sacramento continues to serve the Sangha now and for generations to come.
