Ahem…Is the Mic On?

Have you ever been curious about Toastmasters but hesitant to attend a meeting? Are you a polished prepared speaker who wants to become stronger at impromptu speaking? Have you ever been asked to give a toast at a wedding or speak at a public event and wished you felt more confident? Do you find yourself saying “umm,” “so,” “and,” or “but” a little too often when speaking? (Or maybe you don’t even realize you do!) Are you looking to build leadership and communication skills that can help advance your career?

If so, come check out the Kaizen Toastmasters Club, hosted at the Buddhist Church of Sacramento!

We’re holding an Open House on Sunday, November 16, from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., where you can experience a Toastmasters meeting firsthand in a fun and supportive environment.

At our open house, you’ll enjoy a prepared speech by Shirley Kato on decluttering techniques, and see how we practice short impromptu speeches during a lively segment called Table Topics. Guests will even have a chance to participate! You’ll observe effective speaking techniques, learn how constructive feedback is shared, and experience the positive, encouraging atmosphere that makes our club special.

Most of all, you’ll discover how fun and rewarding Toastmasters can be!

When: Sunday, Nov. 16, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.
Where: Buddhist Church of Sacramento – Little Hondo room
