Tisarana - Ogden

Join Us for Yoga, Community, and Dharma-Inspired Reflection

As a newly certified teacher by the Govt. of India and registered with the Yoga Alliance, Annette Koga will continue to offer Monday evening yoga and is excited to expand it into a hybrid format, welcoming both online and in-person (Ogden) participants.  The Utah Yoga Team welcomes members and friends to participate in a weekly hybrid yoga class starting Monday, September 7th at 7 p.m. Mountain Time.

The class will continue with the format listed below:

·         A one-hour yoga practice suitable for participants joining in person or via Zoom

·         Recording of the yoga portion for those unable to attend live

·         A brief closing reading, poem, or reflection inspired by Buddhist teachings

Annette’s vision is to create a welcoming environment where yoga serves not only as a path to physical well-being, but also as an invitation to explore the Dharma and connect more deeply with our sangha. By opening our doors to those interested in yoga, we may also open minds and hearts to Buddhist teachings.

Annette welcome your questions, suggestions, and support as we begin this new chapter. Her hope is to build a program that the Ogden temple can be proud of and that reflects the spirit and teachings of the Dharma.

Yoga - Online/Onsite

About Tisarana Yoga

Tisarana Yoga seeks to cultivate relaxation and well-being in body, mind, and heart through practices designed to be safe and accessible for all ages and abilities.

Tisarana Yoga was established by the Buddhist Churches of America through the Bishop’s Expansion Fund. Instructors complete an intensive six-month teacher training program and final examinations, with certification through Bob Matsueda’s Yoga School, a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School, and India’s Ministry of AYUSH Yoga Certification Board.

While rooted in the traditional practice of Hatha Yoga, the program is presented as a health and wellness activity that complements Buddhist practice. Its emphasis is on improving physical well-being, reducing stress, cultivating gratitude, and supporting the overall health of participants while reflecting the values of compassion, kindness, and respect that are central to our temple community.

Tisarana Yoga is designed to be accessible and adaptable for people of all ages, abilities, and experience levels. With an emphasis on relaxation, each session incorporates breathing techniques, gentle and subtle body movements, asanas (yoga poses), and focused meditation.

All levels, abilities, religions, and ages are welcome. There is no fee for participating in a Tisarana Yoga class. Donations are gladly accepted.
