Annual Cultural and Fundraising Events
Annual Japanese Food & Cultural Bazaar
Our annual Bazaar has become a staple summertime event in the Sacramento community. Since 1947, August has been a month that our Sangha plans and looks forward to. Mark your calendars for a one-day event of Japanese food, cultural events, music, and games—we can’t wait to see you there

Bon Odori Festival
Obon is a Japanese Buddhist festival usually held in mid-July or August for a week and is a time when the souls of dead ancestors are supposed to return home for three days. In particular, prayers are said for anyone who has died in the previous year as it is believed that they need more guidance to find their way. Mark your calendars for the 2nd weekend in July for Bon Odori and Obon Service.
